What is HVACiSpec™?
For over 17 years, Advance Controls, Inc. (ACI) has quietly built a name and reputation for itself by providing unparalleled service and support for its full line of quality controls for industrial automation. Over the past few years, led by the success and widespread popularity of its patented Inverter Bypass Safety Switch (IBYSS®), ACI has developed a loyal following in the HVAC market. Urged on by its HVAC customers and representatives alike, ACI has continually expanded its HVAC product and support offerings, culminating in the HVACiSpec™ project.

Working with its reps and customers, ACI has developed the HVACiSpec™ project into a three part resource designed to make integrating ACI's high quality products and services seamless for HVAC Reps, Consulting Engineers, Specifiers and Distributors alike.

With your invaluable input, we hope to build HVACiSpec™ into the most indispensable cost and time saving tool at your disposal. HVACiSpec™ is comprised of three resources- the HVACiSpec™ CD-ROM, the HVACiSpec™ Windows® application, and the HVACiSpec.com Web Site.

HVACiSpec™ CD-ROM
The HVACiSpec™ CD-ROM includes the HVACiSpec™ Windows® application installer (see below), our full HVACiSpec™ catalog in PDF format, multimedia presentations on our company and the patented IBYSS® system, as well as product specific drawings and forms.

The CD-ROM is designed to be used the way you want to use it- for example, the HVAC catalog is included in multiple formats. There's the fast-loading, fully linked and indexed PDF format for easy navigation and quick on-screen display. For printing, there is a high-resolution printable PDF file with links back to the on-screen version, and to a "printing release" text file should you decide to have a copy of the catalog printed. Also included are individual PDF files for each catalog section, product specific drawings, forms, bid specs and submittals. You can easily access these files from the CD-ROM menu or the HVACiSpec™ Windows® application. There's even handy links to the HVACiSpec.com website and the Adobe® Acrobat® Reader download page. Use the files from the CD-ROM, or use the installer to put them on your computer to use without the CD-ROM*.

*Multimedia presentations run from the CD-ROM and are not installed on your computer. The HVACiSpec™ Windows® application must be installed to run (it cannot be run directly from the CD-ROM).

HVACiSpec™
The HVACiSpec™ Windows® application is the ultimate resource for anyone specifying HVAC motor controls. Easy access to all of the catalog pages, drawings and forms in PDF format is just the beginning. Typical bid specifications are available in PDF format and as text files for you to cut and paste or place into your own documents. Besides being an easy to navigate portal to the product information and forms, HVACiSpec™ is a powerful program for creating and tracking product submittals.

HVACiSpec™ includes a "Projects" database, which allows you to maintain a list of projects and their locations / tag numbers. Once you've entered a project, you can add locations and tag numbers without having to retype redundant information. Creating a submittal is as simple as selecting the project or one of its locations, and choosing the product. With a single click, a submittal is created with all of the project, location and tag number information already filled in for you. Once created, submittals can be sorted, printed and tracked in the HVACiSpec™ Submittal database.

Search the projects by any criteria. View or add date-stamped project comments. List all the submittals for a particular project. Click any submittal's status and view the status comments, when the status was last changed, or update the status with a single click. Search for all submittals by their status. All options are designed to make your life easier and to keep your projects and submittals moving along smoothly and efficiently. The same way working with Advance Controls, Inc. has always been.
